The goal of the lecture is to deconstruct long-held dichotomous positions in biblical studies and theology where Western philosophies have crept in and are seen as orthodox. Watkin’s critical re-assessment of current positions in light of a biblical framework can bring unity across dialectic positions. This first step in decolonization may allow Asian scholars to develop new contextual avenues in their biblical and theological research.
