Building the College Management System
We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your faithful prayers and generous support toward the College Management System (CMS) project, previously known as 1LJS. We first launched this initiative just before COVID-19 and shared the need for S$1.5 million to implement a new system that would help manage essential tasks from application to graduation for all four Schools and Advanced Studies. This would replace our aged and ‘bootstrapped’ Student Administration System. By God’s grace and through your generosity, S$434,755.95 has been raised toward this vision so far.
Despite our best efforts, our second attempt to develop the CMS was unsuccessful. The appointed contractor, after receiving the initial payment, was unable to deliver a solution that aligned with our internal processes. The contract has since been terminated with full rights to compensation in accordance with the contract terms. We trust that this setback will pave the way for stronger solutions as we first realign our internal processes. The donations received for this project remain dedicated to this project.
In parallel, SBC continues to face challenges with its aging IT infrastructure, much of which is now over a decade old. Over the next 12 to 15 months, we will focus on upgrading our outdated IT network and hardware to better support our teaching modes through technology. We will also review and redesign our internal processes to ensure optimal alignment across all Schools and Advanced Studies before we embark on the tender exercise for the CMS.
Thank you once again for your trust and partnership. We remain committed to stewarding every contribution with accountability, transparency, and excellence. We invite you to continue upholding us in prayer as we take the next steps in this journey.
